Claims about clean energy are only as good as the auditable proof (i.e. certificates) behind them. Tracking systems turn a megawatt-hour or a dekatherm of energy into a serialized, verified certificate that can be claimed exactly once, and that discipline is what keeps markets honest. It is all we do.

Clean energy markets only work when everyone trusts the certificates that describe the energy. CleanCounts gives every certificate its own unique ID number and tracks it from issuance through retirement, so a single Watt-hour can never be counted twice. As a nonprofit, we avoid conflicts of interest through our operating model: we do not trade or broker the certificates we track. We are not selling you the product we count. We work in service of our customers and the market, and every fee we collect goes back into the platform.
