Minneapolis, MN — Feb. 1, 2026 — CleanCounts, the nation’s leading platform for Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) tracking and clean energy data transparency, proudly announces the appointment of Mark Silberg to its Board of Directors.
Silberg currently serves as Energy Policy Advisor to Colorado Governor Jared Polis, where he leads administrative, legislative, and programmatic strategies to achieve the Governor’s ambitious goal of 100% clean electricity and a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions economy by 2050.
Before joining the Governor’s Office, Silberg was a Manager at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), where he supported states in developing near-term climate action plans and helped advance advocacy strategy as part of the largest single philanthropic investment in U.S. climate action history. He was also a founding analyst in RMI’s federal policy and building electrification initiatives and previously co-founded a start-up accelerator that administered the U.S. Department of Energy’s Cleantech University Prize.
Silberg’s work has been recognized nationally: he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Energy list in 2016 and serves on the National Council on Electricity Policy. He also contributed to the climate change solutions book The Big Fix and served as a policy volunteer on the Biden presidential campaign’s subcommittee on environmental justice.
“CleanCounts’ role in enabling transparent, high-integrity clean energy markets is more important than ever,” said Silberg. “I’m honored to join the board and help advance the organization’s mission to drive accountability and innovation in the clean energy transition.”
“Mark’s experience at the intersection of policy, technology, and implementation will be invaluable to CleanCounts as we continue to expand and evolve,” said Ben Gerber], CEO of CleanCounts. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to our board.”
Silberg joins the CleanCounts Board of Directors at a pivotal time as the organization deepens its partnerships with state and regional market stakeholders, enabling more efficient tracking of clean energy generation, decarbonization efforts, and sustainability goals across North America.
